Save Our Symphonies (SOS) is a community-led initiative dedicated to supporting Washington, DC’s classical musicians and the artistic institutions that bring their work to life.
Founded by neighbors, subscribers, and donors, SOS seeks to:
1. Encourage attendance at live performances by the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Washington National Opera (WNO), and Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra (KCOHO)
2. Raise awareness of how audience engagement sustains artists
3. Celebrate the extraordinary talent within our local artistic community
4. Strengthen connections between musicians and the audiences they serve
We are not a political organization. We are neighbors who believe that great music deserves full houses, sustained support, and a thriving future in our city.
Through salons, outreach, and grassroots engagement, SOS works to keep the partnership between artists and audiences strong—so that live music in Washington continues to flourish for generations to come.
