When the lights dim and the music begins, what unites us is larger than any disagreement. Live performance allows us to experience beauty, connection, and shared humanity.
Our National Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Opera, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the many musicians and staff who support them dedicate their lives to bringing world-class artistry to our community. Ticket sales and audience engagement are essential to sustaining that work.
Whatever one’s views about broader institutional issues, the musicians and production teams continue to show up—rehearsing, performing, and serving our region with extraordinary professionalism. Supporting performances directly supports the artists, the stage crews, and the staff who make live music possible.
This page exists to share awareness of the impacts boycotts have on the lives of the artists we support as well as highlight the many talented people in our artistic communities. It is run by friends and neighbors of Washington, D.C.-based classical musicians; subscribers and donors to the NSO, WNO, and other Kennedy Center artistic groups; and people who are troubled by what a loss of these artists would mean for our region.
